Illuminata, A Return to Prayer by Marianne Williamson is a beautiful book. At its simplest, it is a book of prayers for all of us to use as the need arises. There is a prayer for EVERY occasion. Though I believe God knows our hearts, at times, it is hard to find the words to pray. Sometimes, prayers may rush out. Other times, the pain is too overwhelming for the words to come. We may have someone in our life going through something we know nothing about and are not sure how to pray. The prayers given here can act as a guide for you.
This book is not meant to replace your own prayers at all. Rather it is a call for us, as a people and as a nation to return to prayer…..to return ultimately to love. Marianne Williamson feels strongly about love and the power of love. Along with the power of love is the power of the individual. We are living in trying times for sure, but healing starts with each of us. As individuals, we have incredible power to change this world. This change begins with choosing love over hate.
I read this book over many months, but it came at just the right moment for me. I found peace and hope in the words on the pages. I hope you will too.
