Why Peloton?
The real question is WHY NOT? And that question I cannot answer.
The question I asked myself today after joining a friend for workouts virtually for the third time this week is WHY haven’t I posted this blog post yet! Peloton is my favorite thing to talk a about. I constantly tell people they should get on board. I am certain I am fairly obnoxious. I will not stop!
I have had my Peloton bike for 2 years. I am IN LOVE! When I made my purchase, it was not with the intention of leaving my local spin studio. And the only reason I stopped going altogether was the pandemic. At the time of my investment, I had a crazy busy travel and work schedule and often could not make the class times work for me at the studio and would miss weeks of workouts. When you are working on a deadline, it is really helpful to be able to squeeze in a workout in the next room.
I loved the experience from the beginning. And I had no idea the app would give me options beyond spinning. The app itself offers all sorts of workouts in addition to spin and tread including pilates, strength, bootcamp, stretching, yoga, meditation and more! And there are a variety of class lengths offered as well so you can string several together (which is now a thing called stacking), do one long workout, or even squeeze in something quick on a very busy day. The options are endless and you will never get bored.
But let’s get down and dirty with what I really love!! The instructors are incredible. This is not a job for them; it is their passion. If you want a little bit of church with your workout…..this is for you. And by church, I mean each workout is a spiritual experience. Now there are workouts that are just FUN without a heart tug. For most of us, working out is really a mind body experience – it is an emotional release. Each time I get on the bike, I am meant to be on that ride and there is a message for me. Each time it is just what I need! I have cried on the bike. I have laughed out loud on the bike! I have danced and sang. I have pushed myself harder and further than I thought possible. It truly feels like a family and like we are all in this together – in the hard life stuff together!
I have friends all over the country with a Peloton and we can join on the bike and do a ride together at anytime. You can join live rides or you can select a pre-recorded class which is what I usually do! I love being able to jump on the bike whenever I want and not be tied to a schedule.
Each instructor has a certain vibe – their personalities really shine! They are all motivating and have so much positivity. And during this pandemic and so much uncertainty, I know it has had to be tough at times for the instructors to be so positive and to have it in themselves to motivate others when maybe they needed a push as well. Every time they fully SHOW UP! That is what really stands apart for me – the way they show up.
I cannot say enough about my Peloton and the community! I love the in-person communities I have been a part of in my local yoga and spin studios – I have made so many friends. I never knew I could feel that virtually but it is possible and it is very real. If you have been considering it, I say DO IT! Why are you waiting! Investing in my Peloton Bike and joining this amazing community was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
Working out and moving your body is a game changer. I feel more confident, more calm, more settled, and more stable over all when I work out. Finding people who can join you in your fitness is great too and will help you be consistent. Find your passion and your people and keep moving!!!
