HELL YEAH!
Confidence builds when we grow. Growth happens when we stretch outside of our comfort zone. And if you are working out in any way – you are likely being pushed outside of your comfort zone.
Personal fitness growth can take shape in many forms:
- Did you hit a PR (personal record or personal best) in spin class?
- Did you walk for 15 minutes 3 times this week when last week you only made it once?
- Did you take a 90 minute hot yoga class instead of your usual 75 minute class?
- Did you give it your all during the intervals portion of spin class – never backing down?
- Did you use the heavier weights for the arms portion of your weight training class?
- Did you run that mile under 10 minutes?
- Did you keep going when you thought you couldn’t?
- Did you go to that class or on that walk even when you didn’t feel like leaving your house?
If you can answer yes to any of those questions or any similar questions, you built confidence. Pushing yourself physically takes courage. If you can do it that one time…you know you can do it again and again…and go faster and further.
How does this all translate? If we know we can push ourselves physically and we grow accustomed to doing so – to setting new fitness goals and reaching them – then it spills over into other areas of our lives. So we believe in ourselves! Yes we can absolutely nail that presentation! Yes we can go to that party where we don’t know anyone! Yes we can get that job! Yes we can take the chance, do the hard stuff, and overcome our challenges!
So get up and get moving…who cannot use a little confidence boost?!
